The gallery has the pleasure in showcasing work by the late, great Bob Carlos Clarke (b.1950 – d.2006)
Carlos Clarke was best known as a photographer of women in a state of undress as well as iconic portraiture most famously for Marco Pierre Whites ‘White Heat’ front cover as well as further iconic faces from stage and silver screen. Clarke established a body of work that was original, diverse, challenging and often beautiful.
Clarke’s work is available as limited edition fine prints including signed silver gelatin and giclee prints. His works are highly collectable and have been purchased by national art galleries including the National Portrait Gallery, National Media Museum and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum.
Here in the gallery we have acquired a beautiful piece taken of the British actress and model Miss Kadamba Simmons who, like Bob, also passed away in tragic circumstances.
The subject is classically Bob Carlos Clarke and the technical quality of the image is as you would expect from his in-camera and darkroom printing work.
This beautiful work displays Clarke’s admiration for content as well as visual impact. Presented within a deep card mount and black modern frame this piece is truly striking.
